Hi Guys
anyone know how i can purge growing data (logs) for maintenance the appliance??
Regards
Hey there,
Generally the LEM storage (database/logs) is self-maintaining - the database won't ever fill the disk to 100% in normal circumstances, it will purge the oldest data to keep your data storage below about 90%. There are occasional cases where large floods of data can create an out of disk scenario, but this is pretty uncommon.
So, really, you shouldn't have to do anything, and things should just keep working - the oldest data will get recycled, new data will have room.

Checking Disk Usage (this could take a moment)... ....oo.
Partition Disk Usage:
LEM: 100% (3.0G/3.0G)
OS: 40% (1.1G/3.0G)
Logs/Data: 42% (193G/492G)
Temp: 3% (152M/5.9G)
Database Queue(s): 12K (No alerts queued, unknown number of alerts waiting in memory)
Logs: 30G
Mine is at 100% and I cannot get into the console/web interfcae. Perfect timing since I was just about to do a training session on LEM :-(
as they say in development, "that shouldn't happen." Generally we try to catch everything we can possible to prevent the LEM partition from filling up. Usually it's something like errors in the logs (a debug would likely tell us what's going on).
Same issue here. Was there a resolution?
my disk is at 100% please let me know how to fix this..
Checking Disk Usage.......
Disk Usage:
TriGeo: 20% (545M/2.9G)
OS: 35% (978M/2.9G)
Logs/Data: 100% (482G/482G)
Temp: 22% (1.3G/5.9G)
Database Queue(s): 1.1G
Rules Queue: 17M
Console Queue: 33M
EPIC Rules Queue: 2.1M

Tool Profiles Message Queue: 2.1M
Hi,
Just saw this discussion thread and I am facing a similar problem,
LEM: 41% (1.2G/3.0G)
OS: 39% (1.1G/3.0G)
Logs/Data: 90% (199G/234G)
Temp: 4% (187M/5.9G)
From my LEM disk usage, I could find that the Logs/Data usage is showing 90% (199G/234G).
I have configured LEM with the default 230GB of disk space. From http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/3405/ , I found that LEM stores upto 50 days of original data and then compresses it . I ran a Database maintenance report and I could see it has now 85 days of data in it. (from the day I have commissioned LEM). My console has got stuck many times and report generation takes a little bit longer as well.
- As I have read, LEM auto maintains itself, so being at 90% is normal or will it affect the performance?
-How can I set a limit to retain about 1 months original data and archive it after that?
Is there any configuration in LEM that needs to be done?
-Within approx. 3 months, Log usage has almost reached 90%, does it mean I should increase my Disk space?
-what is the recommended number of days of data to retain?
Awaiting your reply
Thanks a lot
