HP P2000 G3 and Hitachi AMS2500 Monitoring

Question

I'm down to the nitty gritty and I need to know whether the two aforementioned storage systems CAN in fact be monitored through SAM.  In both cases, I can see the systems and receive traps, but I have no information on interfaces, disks, volumes etc even though SNMP monitoring is setup and I have appropriate permissions (through SNMP) to see stuff.

The Hitachi shows as UP with no resources.

The HP shows as Unidentified with the ability to see some resources (in teh List Resources area) although it never lists the resources it has discovered.

I'm obviously missing something as I'm sure this can be done...

Storage Arrays should be monitored using Storage Manager. SAM itself includes no out-of-the-box ability for monitoring SANs. At best, if the device supports SNMP and you know the OIDs for the information you'd like to monitor, you could create SNMP Monitors in SAM. The same could be said for the Universal Device Poller in NPM.
