Email When App Goes Dowin in a Group

i am having trouble figuring how to do this.  i have a group of servers that run a number of services.  when one of the services goes down i'd like to email a specific users.  i've created the group, but don't know how to set up the alert to do this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a component status alert out of the box. You can simply add an email to the alert actions and you are done. Grouping is not necessary for that one. Use ${ComponentName} is ${ComponentStatus} on ${NodeName} for the email message and you're set.
