Auto Discover Applications

I cant seam to find any information about this. What I am trying to do is have a nodes applications automatically discovered without me have to start a discovery task. I have about 6 Application Templates that have a single Windows Service as a component. I would like to have the SAM or Sonar discover these when the node is imported. I see that this is done with Appinsight applications but how can I add my own custom templates to the Sonar process.

Bonus question: How can the import of the node and applications be done automatically without user intervention?

You need to put a copy of your template in the following location (directory) on your Orion Server:

\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\APM\DefaultTemplates

In APM - Go to SAM Settings - and Getting Started with SAM - Scan Nodes for Applications.

Select the nodes - click next  ...

Now in the APM - Application Discovery - You should be able to use the drop down menu to select the Template that you created, because it is now available in the corresponding directory on the server.

I will check to see about the "auto" import - but Orion likes your approval before changing the system.
