Can anyone advise on the Network Summary page loading slowly. My page consists of a Network Map with 1200 nodes, and two custom node lists. Can you also explain how the All Nodes loads faster than pages with maps.

Are you using the "Node List - Custom Grouping and Filtering" resources? How large/complex are your node lists? It's been my experience that the number of devices, levels of grouping, and complexity of the filters, plays a big role in how long the resource takes to load. Maybe you could try detaching them one at a time to see how long it takes for each of them to load individually. That may help you identify the culprit(s).
On our larger summary views, we've opted to include various resources to show problem conditions, along with a link to the associated device list that loads in a separate window. This way, the most pertinent info loads quickly, and if someone really wants to see the device list for some reason, they can easily do so... and wait the 20 or so seconds it takes to load.
We don't use maps, so I can't speak from experience about that particular question, but I would venture to guess that it's similar to the answer above. Maps (I assume) have the same type of overhead as that associated with "grouping" in a node list...? Maybe..? The "All Nodes" resource doesn't have any of the overhead associated with "grouping", so this may explain why it loads more quickly.
FWIW, another thing to check is Traps - since this is a new feature, you can easily get "surprised" by the sheer number of traps that can come in. It's not unusual for a 100,000 messages to show up if you don't watch it carefully.

Thanks for responding. I am using the Custom Grouping and Filtering. I have 2300 devices. Categories are: Datactrs, Stores, Distribution Centers and 42 states. My filters are very simple (as I don't know SQL) = or !=. I would like to show problem areas but my NOC and Network engineers insist on seeing everything within their area of responsibility.
also make sure you have installed both the hotfix 1 & 2 for v 8.1 and Do not run the configuration wizard-(which will break the Hotfix)
Custom Mib imports was the feature we were most looking forward to with v8 since it wasn't as advertised we are still using 7.8.5.
Thanks
