Thwack Backpack Defect?

I got the Thwack Backpack a few months ago and I absolutely love the bag, but unfortunately I noticed that a huge rip in the seam of the main pouch is forming.

I've used it as my workbag, carrying mostly a light load of network cables, small tools, a 17" laptop, charger, and a bunch of other random things to and from work. The bag is mostly empty, so the issue isn't stress on that seam.

I'm considering ordering another one but I'm left to wonder if the new one will have the same problem. Has anybody else experienced this issue with the Backpack? Is this a one off, or should I not waste my points again?

I have two thwackpacks, I use mine to travel with it fully loaded on planes 4-8 flights every month for the last 4 years, my wife uses my "spare" bag very often as well. Neither of ours have had any issues, although mine is finally starting to get a bit worn across the bottom.

This is exactly where my Thwack backpack ripped as well.

I put some very poor stitches that held it together until it started getting holes in other locations.

Considering taking it to a friend with actual seamstress skills to fix all the holes and possibly use for a fishing bag.
