Duplex Mismatch Alert

Can anyone tell me how can I create a Duple Mismatch Alert in the NPM 11.5.2 Web Console? (Duplex mismatch is a condition where two connected devices operate in different duplex modes, that is, one operates in half duplex while the other one operates in full duplex.)

They are also included as syslog messages if you are sending your Syslogs to Kiwi or NPM.

We use LEM to do this. But you are correct that KiWi can do it as well.

There are additional methods to discover duplex issues, too.

Use NPM's Syslog-based alerts that fire off an e-mail to your team when you have discards and errors on interfaces. There might be other causes for them, but duplex mismatches cause loads of discards and errors and retransmits.
Use NCM to build a Duplex Compliance Report that checks the speed/duplex setting on every port. If the ports on both sides aren't set to auto negotiate, there's a red flag for you to consider cleaning up.
Use NPM's High Errors & Discards Resource/Widget to show you where your network has problems at Layers 1 and 2. I recently customized this Widget two ways so it was added to my front page in NPM, AND so it was made into a complete additional view that displayed only interfaces with errors or discards in my data centers. I may just build another one that uses Groups to filter and display only WAN router interfaces. And another one like it for my System Admins that only displays Server ports with errors and discards--just to show duplex issues.

Just to add some investigation on duplex mismatch alert -

We have recently notice that one wan link is configured in half duplex at our router end and we did not get the duplex Mismatch syslog alert.

> It have reason why syslog alert did not generate, because both interface side required CDP enable, but here CDP (cisco discovery protocol ) was desabled on wan link interface, that is the reason we did not get the alert.

Actually due to security concern CDP is disable in wan link. that reason we did not get the alert.

THWACK Community Do we have any other mechanism to alert the half duplex configured on interface.
