No ICMP, SNMP only

Question

I'm in situation where I need to model a Cellular modem on a carrier network that does not support ICMP.  Best I can tell is that SolarWind NPM will not let you create a device if it does not pass the PING test first, even if you are modeling with SNMP.

Is this true?  Is there a work around to created a model that can not be PING'd?

Halef,  Yes I have tried but I will take a second look.  knowing that it should work helps me look in different areas to why it's not working.

That's not true, if you have only SNMP enabled on the device then you can still add this device with just SNMP (no ICMP), all you have to do is select "SNMP with ICMP" polling method option while adding node.

And when you do the List resource then select status calculated by SNMP instead of ICMP then you will get Up status of the node as long as the SNMP is responding.
