Upgrade Path to NPM 12

I was researching what our upgrade path would be to NPM 12 and had a question. Using the Upgrade Advisor, it says I upgrade NPM to 11.5.2 to 12.0 and then upgrade NTA from 4.1.1 to 4.2. I was curious about this because the compatibility table for NTA shows that 4.1.1 isn't compatible with 12.0, so wouldn't I need to upgrade to 4.1.2 before upgrading to NPM 12?

I recently went through an upgrade from 11.5.2 to 12.0 but had to upgrade incrementally so it went from 11.5.2 to 11.5.3 to 12.0. I have several packages and had to increment them as well.

Has anyone else had to do a 11.5.2 to 12.0 upgrade?

I just went 11.5.3 to 12. NTA 4.1.2 wouldn't install until NPM 12 was on.

Did 4.1.1 even run on 12.0? What happens when you upgrade to a NPM version that a module isn't compatible with?

Well, I can't really answer that completely. This was part of a migration from a 2008 R2 to 2012. I only had 4.1.1 installed long enough to copy the DB folder to the new server. All i really did with NPM 12 / NTA 4.1.1 combo was look at summary page to see in monitored ports, etc were showing. At that time, none of my switches were using the new IP yet and I went to 4.1.2 before I changed them.

Hello CIT - can you verify that the upgrade path for 11.5.2 is first to 11.5.3?

Our Upgrade advisor wizard says we can go straight to 12.0 from 11.5.2 so I am very curious about your path. Is Upgrade advisor wrong? Do we have to incrementally go to 11.5.3?
