Hi all
I have checkpoint opsec connector which stops frequently(Every few days, I have to restart it manually every time),. so I want to ask if there is a way to set it to restart the connector automatically if it stops.
LEM ver: 6.2.0
Thanks
First, I would upgrade to LEM 6.2.1 and make sure that you have the latest connectors installed on the LEM to see if we can stop the problem entirely.
Second, when the connector stops, if you pull a DEBUG from the LEM that will give you (or Support) logs that should indicate any errors or issues the system hit that may crash the connector.
I had the same problem. What fixed it was upgrading the RAM on the VM appliance. I was initially given 8GB RAM for my solarwinds LEM box and it seems one of the the symptoms for RAM issues was the dropping of Checkpoint connectors. Once I got an upgrade to 16GB RAM the issue cleared up.
If I log into the appliance and run top however, even with 16GB of RAM the appliance is showing its taking most of that up! I'm not sure if it just swallows any RAM its given or my LEM box is logging way too much...
The LEM can have some goldfish tendencies (expanding to fill all available space) but Checkpoint firewalls are infamously super chatty and capable of generating tons of traffic, which requires more memory.
Upgraded to the latest version. waiting to see if the problem will occur again. Thanks
thanks. I might have to upgrade my RAM too ..Thanks
