Delete cached email addresses from auto-populating alerts?

I've had some email addresses that needed to change so the old ones no longer exist anymore. I would like for them to stop autofilling as I am typing so no one accidentally selects an address that is no longer valid. Is it possible to delete these in SAM 6 and up? I could only find these really old threads
