SNMP Trap Variable Bindings

Just started playing with SNMP traps in SolarWinds; particularly for alerts on when Cisco configs are changed.

Whilst I can get it to send me the alert email, there are a couple of big bits of info that are missing from the "Variable Bindings" section. What I most want to know from these alerts is WHO and WHERE FROM! I know the information is usually available from doing an SNMP walk on one of my Cisco devices; in particular the table at 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.43.1.1.6 (although I can also see the exact information the switch stores is variable between models).

Are the "Variable Bindings" set in the SolarWinds coding and hence unable to be changed by us users; or is there somewhere I can go to say which values I want returning?

(Assuming they are set by SolarWinds, what is the logic that is used to decied which ones to make available to us?)

The varbinds are sent by the device in the trap, SolarWinds is just separating them out so you can do what you want with them. for example, one of the traps I receive has about 10 varbinds and is a little confusing because you have to search for the spot that says "A/C loss" or "Bad power supply", but when I used varbinddata4, it is the only thing I see and easier to understand at a glance.

if you wanted to verify, use wireshark, and you'll see the info solarwinds put in the varbinds.
