Issue downloading config from Cisco CSS 11503

Question

I am having issues using Cirrus v4 to connect to a couple of Cisco CSS 11503's. I have validated that my SNMP configuration is correct, but am unable to download a config. I receive an error "Unable to determine MIB type, TFTP Host:DeviceIP:". I have updated to the most current MIBS.cfg file, which was donwloaded from the website today, and still no luck. I have tried using SSH (both auto and the specific version numbers) to download the configs and get a "Cannot Log into Device: bad password" error. I have also tried using both the CSS command templates, as well as the Cisco IOS command template with no success. If I manually SSH to the device the same credentials work fine. I also get the same error when I try the validate login information process. Does anyone have any ideas? I have searched the forum and found a few things, but they looked out of date with the new version, or didn't work. Thanks, Wade

Thanks for the reply. Please do post what you find out. I have the same problem with leaving telnet open.

In the meantime I am digging through the scripts to see if it's possible to mangle one.

Yes we do have SSH enabled on our switch.  I have pulled the config using telnet, but we are unable to leave telnet enabled due to corporate security policy.

I am working with an engineer from Solarwinds regarding the issue to find a fix.

Do you have SSH enabled on your content switch?

I have a similar problem with my 11501. If you use telnet to log into the device, Cirrus works properly and downloads the configuration. If you use SSH however, the login is modified slightly.

For example:

Telnet:

User Access Verification

Username:SNIP
Password:
ster-4-lb1#

SSH:

login as: SNIP

User Access Verification

Username:SNIP
Password:
ster-4-lb1#

The is an extra step involved, which appears to break the native Cisco login.

If you find a solution, please post it.
