BRI Alerting

Hello all,

I am trying to set up an alert for when a BRI interface becomes active. By default it is in an "up" state so I cannot set it for the interface coming up. We split the BRI interfaces up in to two subinterfaces that are "down" by default, but even monitoring those for coming "up" does nothing. For some reason Orion recognizes the subinterfaces as "up" even when they are down (see below). Any ideas? How do people usually create these alerts? Can I use a trap to setup advanced alerts?
