I am wondering is there a reason or more importantly, a solution to why the inventory takes so long on our installation of Cirrus. For example, It takes about 5 to 6 min to inventory 6 devices. it seems to do the first 20% very quickly and then sits there for approx 30 sec then moves up one or two percent and sits there for another 30 sec, it may then jump 30 percent and once again just sit for an minute and so on.
I have ran the performance monitor on the server and checked the networking statistics but they all seem ok. The CPU Spikes when the inventory is moving through the percentages quickly but when it's sitting there not moving the CPU is at 0 , the disk queue is at 0 and the page per sec is at 0,it's as if it's waiting for something.
the boxes themselves are high end boxes cisco 6500's but I have tried inventorying loads of different cisco devices on our network and the behaivour is the same on all (it just sits there for ages doing nothing).We have just over 2000 devices on the network and we have node monitoring OFF. Any suggestions as to why we're seeing this?
