Getting email alert with the node name specified (NPM)

Hi All,

I was configuring the alerts for different nodes on my network using NPM. I realized we cannot see the name of the Node on which the alert has been triggered.

Is there any way that we can specify the variable for the node name in the email action, so that it would be easy for us to figure out which device triggered the alert without getiing into the NPM.

Yes,

${NodeName}

General alert variables

'It is possible to use previous generation variables, for example ${NodeName}. However, when using the variable picker, the new format is displayed by default. Previous generation variables can only be entered manually.'

I did this for an email subject when requested on an alert many nodes could trigger:

Alert ${N=Alerting;M=AlertName} on ${N=SwisEntity;M=Node.DisplayName} triggered at ${N=Alerting;M=AlertTriggerTime;F=DateTime}

This alert is set to run off of an application monitor, I believe the syntax is slightly different for a component monitor if I recall correctly.

Thank you guys. That helped. I have configured the alert so that it will also show me which interface is Down on that particular node.

Node Name: ${NodeName}

Node Status: ${Node.Status}

Interface: ${InterfaceName}

Interface Operational Status: ${OperStatus}
