NCM license upgrade does not appear in orion licensing page

Hi All,

Today i have upgraded our NCM server license from 1000 to 3000. I used the license manager to achieve this and everything went fine. The issue is, it still shows as 1000 in the orion license details page.

How does orion polls the license information? Will it refresh after a while or do i need to restart some other services? Restarting is the least attractive option since i will be impacting lost of users.

From the NCM administrator's guide:

If you are deploying SolarWinds NCM on one server and integrating with Orion Platform products on a different server, then you must install the SolarWinds NCM license on the server running the other Orion Platform product.

I deactivated the license on the ncm server and upgraded the 1000 to 3000 on the orion server and everything is fin now.

What does it show in License Manager? Does it still have DL1000 or does it now show DL3000? And what does it have in your customer portal? Does it show the DL3000 and does it show your server as being registered?

If it all of the above show correctly, then I'd log a call with Solarwinds. I just updated my NPM license to unlimited and did the registration manually through the portal and all was fine.

Thanks for the answer, actually we might have found what's wrong.

I upgraded the license on the NCM server using the license manager and everything went fine. I can see the new 3000 license installed. BUT when i open the license manager on the NPM server i also see the NCM license but the 1000 one this time.

Should i have upgraded the license on the NPM server instead of NCM?
