I got my CNE certifcation for 2.2 and 3.11 back in 1993! And then upgrade to 4.0 I think in 97 or 98.

I worked on 2.2 but never was certified on it. I specialized on migrating systems from Netware 2.x and 3.x to Netware 4.x and designing/building NDS.

Pre-Netware 2 and when I was working with Sperry/Unisys we OEM'd the pre-runner. We called it UserNet and we used to name the volumes things like "donkey" and "goat" because the boot script would advise that it was "Mounting <VolumeName>". We thought it was so funny - a proper techie joke . We lived in much simpler times in those days.

I worked "many" years ago in a Sperry shop and we had a series of jobs called wtfsort, wtfmerge, wtfwrite. When asked what wtf meant our response was "what's this for".... It worked!!

Like it. I think I was actually working for Unisys then (It was just after Sperry and Borroughs merged.

Started on Netware 2.15, did a lot of 3 then actually got certified on 4, 5 and 6. Those were the days when server O/S actually worked. I remember installing a superserver at Novell's Bracknell HQ (UK). They were debating whether to run Netware 4.11 (it was just out) or Windows NT3.51. I pointed to the 12 snakes on the NW4.11 screen and asked "Can windows do that - run 12 CPUs". Unheard of at the time.
