Import Node and custom properties

Hello,

Using Orion SDK, can I do following at the same time ?

(1)Node (IP, Caption and so on) register (There are nodes with same IP and overlap IP Address.)

(2)Custom properties values assign for Datetime Type.

About (2), there are som custom properties of Dattime type.

Can I import valu for custom properties of Datetime type using Orion SDK ?

Would you please provide samples if you have thme for above

Hi,

here my thoughts about your questions.

(1) A few months ago I added nodes via Powershell script. So it as possible but you already mentioned it, it was possible to add multiply nodes with same ip.

So you have to build a check that search if this ip is already in use.

I think this check is built in for the WebGUI because there you are not able add two nodes with same ip.

(2) I think there is no problem to fill custom properties with values of a datetype.

In my powershell-scripts I use json and a 'Invoke-WebRequest' to set values for custom properties.

So I think you have to check/compare the possible json datetime formats and the datetime which solarwinds expect.

For that set a value via WebGUI and look for this value in the DB via SWQL-Studio or SQL-Studio.
