V8 Alert emails problems?

I just upgraded my test server from a beta copy of V8 to the release code the other day.
I'm still seeing odd behavior with the alerting engine. The most consistent problem I've seen thus far is that the "from" address on the emails I'm sending doesn't populate properly based on the value I fill in when I create the alert. Its just using whoever I'm sending the email TO as the FROM address.
I'm seeing some other flakey behavior, but I haven't been able to nail it down yet. I just tried deleting all my alerts that came over with the database and re-created them. The FROM address is still broke, but I'm testing my other issues further before I report them.

I called the tech support team and they were able to duplicate the same thing. They reported a bug and will release a patch later.

Any update on this? We have the same issue and its driving my support team nuts.
