I am trying to create a sub-group in one of the main groups using Orion NPM. Prior to, it tells me that "this grourp will be placed in XX group" which is ok yet a copy of that sub-group is also found as a seperate group on its own. Is this a bug?
Sorry, the duplicate seems to be show in the "managed groups" menu not the main web console groups tab.
Is this causing an issue for you?

this is not bug. On "Managed groups" page there is setting "View mode" which defines how are groups displayed. By default it is set to "All groups" which shows all main groups and subgroups.
You can also select to display only main groups or flat view (where hierarchy of groups is not displayed).
