HP Comware 7 switches into SolarWinds

I am hoping someone out there may have had some experience getting the HP Comware 7 switches working with Solarwinds utilising SNMPv3.

below is the config applied to the switch (HP 4 port 5950) running R6205-P03

snmp-agent

undo snmp-agent sys-info version v1 v2c

snmp-agent sys-info version v3

snmp-agent sys-info contact Walter White

snmp-agent sys-info location Albuquerque

snmp-agent group v3 managerpriv privacy

snmp-agent usm-user v3 walter managerpriv simple authentication-mode md5 password privacy-mode aes128 password

snmp-agent target-host trap address udp-domain 10.10.10.10 params securityname solarwinds v3 privacy

Whenever I complete the "Add node" screen from Solarwinds, complete the relevant details the "Test" always fails.

I have tried ticking the "password is key" options but still get the same result.

I have also tried changing the authentication and privacy mode settings - same result.

If I run an SNMP walk from the SolarWinds server usig the same settings the "walk" works fine.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

If you configured a read only username, it is important to leave the Read/Write part of the configuration blank.

Will try and let you know. My hope was to have read and write both operating. But just read would be a good start.
