Group Alerts

Question

I am not having much success with the group alert variables.  Anyone gotten this format to work?

$groupname is in status of $status

Node with trouble is $nodename

Hello Donald,
I'm trying to reproduce your issue but no success so far. If I set a trigger action writing NetPerfMon event with message string like "Group ${GroupName} is in status ${GroupStatusName}" everything goes fine and several other attempts with changing stuff lead nowhere. So, I have couple of additional questions if you don't mind.

1) What trigger action do you use? I assume send an e-mail could be sort of different than the others.

2) Does only certain variables not work? I mean only for groups, only some for groups, any other pattern...

3) Could you exclude ${NodeID} from the macro if it does any difference? I'm suspicious about this one particularly.

Brandon I was just using examples not real variables.

But I could have used the examples in the alert and gotten the same result :P
