Supress alerting for a component during set hours

Question

I have a request to not alert on a component between 12AM - 6AM that is monitoring CPU usage of a Windows Service. The CPU spikes during these hours do to nightly processing. There are also multiple Service being monitored under the Same Application monitor. The alert is looking for any Application Monitor/component that shows down (CPU above set threshold). I only want to suppress the one component during this time and still collect Stats (So can not un-manage). Also, noticed that the un-manage scheduler does not allow for un-managing components only Applications, which contains components.

I think I have a solution using custom fields and SQL query in an alert. I created an alert with a custom SQL query that triggers when the time is between 11:45 PM and 11:59 PM and then resets after 15 minutes. I created a custom field "PM_muted" and the alert changes it from "No" to "Yes". I updated my alert for high memory usage to only fire if "PM_Muted" is "NO". You can add as many nodes and times as you want. SELECT Nodes.Caption, Nodes.NodeID FROM Nodes WHERE [Caption] = 'Server1' and CONVERT(TIME,GETDATE())>'11:45:00.000' and CONVERT(TIME,GETDATE())<'11:59:00.000' or [Caption] = 'Server2' and CONVERT(TIME,GETDATE())>'00:05:00.000' and CONVERT(TIME,GETDATE())<'00:20:00.000' I then created a copy of the same alert and then set it to change "PM_Muted" to "NO". It is set to run at 6 AM.

The only thing that comes to mind in this scenario is to break it up into 2 alerts. One alert trigger condition specifically mentions the CPU component with the 'Time of day' section set to your hours.

The other main alert has an alert trigger condition specifically excluding that component name so your other components will still alert.
