DameWare Remote Support has evolved over the years into a cross-functional system administration tool. Rather than a single focus on remote control, the DameWare product management team has incorporated functionality that allows system administrators to perform many of their daily tasks from the familiar DameWare software console. In this webinar, Rob Hock and Glenn Gray will demonstrate two of the lesser-known features of DameWare you can use to perform some important tasks.
- How the new Active Management Technology features built-in to DameWare Remote Support v9 allow you to wake sleeping computers or reboot crashed computers without needing physical access to them.
- How to use the Exporter tool built-in to DameWare Remote Support, and how to use it to retrieve some very useful information from both computers on a network and an Active Directory domain.
In addition, they will also discuss and demonstrate the new free tool, the DameWare SSH Client for Windows. This free SSH client includes several time-saving features that are usually only found in expensive alternatives.
- Tabbed interface. Much like modern internet browsers, the DameWare SSH Client for Windows includes a tabbed interface that lets IT pros manage multiple SSH and telnet sessions from one console.
- Saved credentials. The DameWare SSH Client for Windows allows you to save multiple sets of login credentials. With this feature IT pros can quickly login computers and devices by simply selecting from a set of saved login credentials.
- Favorite sessions. Much like the saved credentials feature, the favorite sessions feature in the DW SSH Client for Windows allows you to save info about your most frequently accessed sessions. Rather than keying in credentials, IP address, hostname, etc. when starting a new sessions, simply choose from a list of favorite sessions and quickly login to computers and devices you access most often.
