i have 3 advanced alerts that are setup like this on the same devices:

12am - 7am = send an alert if device is not equal to up after 1 hour

7am - 6pm = (duty hours) send an alert immediately if device is not equal to up

6pm - 12pm = send an alert if device is not equal to up after 1 hour

low and behold a device went down at 11:58 last night triggering an alert.  then i got another at 1am indicating that it had in fact been down for an hour.  then i got another at 7am saying it had been down an hour again

You should be achieve this all in 1 alert.

- Trigger condition: node status is equal to down. Leave the timer at the bottom of this tab at the default 0 seconds

- Reset condition; when the trigger condition is no longer true

- Trigger actions:

----add 1 email action with time of day 7am to 6pm

---- add another email action with time of day of default all hours of day. For this one though, select the checkbox 'delay execution of this action' and specify a delay of 60 minutes. You can further choose 'do not execute this action if the alert has been acknowledged'

This way only 1 alert gets triggered when a node goes down regardless of the time of day. You get notified immediately or with a delay depending on business/non-business hours. As long as you acknowledge alerts within 1 hour, you will always receive just 1 email.

If you want to acknowledge alerts on the go from your smartphone, you can do it with a full version of Mobile Admin or the "free" lite version of Mobile admin available for all NPM/SAM customers
