I need to know if SW has the capability to pull licensing information. Last week the licenses on my Iron Ports expired, I would like to have a heads up to prevent this kind of happening in the future. Thanks in advance for anyones help on this.
Hi darren.rogers,

Jiri,
Thanks for getting back to this so quickly.
Solar Winds Orion Platform with a number of modules as well, NCM (Network Configuration Manager), SAM (Servers and Application Monitor), NPM (Network Performance Monitor), IPAM (IP Address Manager), VNQM (VoIP and Network Quality Manager), NTA (NetFlow Traffic Analzser), and IVIM (Integrated Virtual Infrastructure Monitor).
Now to get the licensing information from one of our Iron Ports, connect via https://a.b.c.d:xxxx/ under System Administration -> Feature Keys. This section will list all the feature keys installed, example Cisco IronPort L4 Traffic Monitor, Cisco IronPort HTTPS Proxy, Cisco IronPort Web Usage Controls, Sophos, McAfee, Webroot, Cisco IronPort Web Proxy & DVS Engine, Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobiltiy...etc. All these licenses will have categories for Status, Time Remaining, and Expiration Date. I would like to have some sort of consolidated view of this information not just for my Iron Ports but also for my ASA, ASR, Window and Linux Servers, and a great number of workstations.
However, what I also need to know is if Solar Winds has the ability to pull licensing information from Microsoft products, for example let say I have X number of machines requiring licenses for Microsoft Office, and Y number of machines that require vSphere licenses, I need to verify I have purchased enough licenses to cover my requirements without having purchased additional licenses, when the licenses expire and if possible some sort of notification before they expire.
Thanks in advance,
Hi,
I don't think that there's an easy way to create the report for Iron Ports, ASA's etc. you describe.
We may have something for MS products -- I'll get back to you.
Our product Patch Manager is able to tell you what is installed on each machine. A good complementary utility can be: Recover Keys. Product key finder, recover lost Windows XP product key, find xp key.
