Hello community!
I hope someone of you can help me with the following issue. I opened up a Service request at Solarwinds customer Portal, as I was not able to run a perl script out of Kiwi 9.6 - The Support informed me, that Kiwi Scripting in general is buggy and actually not working in 9.6. As if this was not bad enough news, they could not offer me a timeline, when it would be fixed nor an alternate Setup/solution with other versions, that really would work. So I am addressing you and hoping, that someone out there is successfully using perl Scripting (Action "run script") on Windows Server and willing to tell me the versions used (Windows Server, kiwi, Active Perl) I am trying to setup on a w2k16 Server, but I can also install any (older) Kiwi Version on a w2k12, if you have a working example setup there. Maybe the issue is buried somewhere else.. Anyhow, I always get the following errror when testing the script in Kiwi, even with older Kiwi versions:
##
2018-06-11 09:21:06 Error occurred while running script file:
\SANMonitoring\message_transfer61a.pl. Rule: 'All', Action: 'New Action' Error info: Object doesn't support this property or method on line: 0
2018-06-11 09:21:06 Error occurred while running script file: C:\Syslogd\Scripts\Script_Example_PerlScript.txt. Rule: 'All', Action: 'New Action' Error info: Object doesn't support this property or method on line: 0
##
As you can see, the error is also there with Kiwi test script. Other scripts (like Visual Basic) do not work either. the script "message_transfer61a.pl" has been tested from our experts separated from Kiwi and is showing no (Syntax) errors.. The solarwinds also analyzed the script and obviously found no errors.
please let me know, if I can offer more Information, that would help.
Many thanks in advance to everybody trying to help!
regards
Harald
