MAPI round trip time failed to open default mailbox

I am consistently getting the same error trying to get the MAPI round trip time monitor to work.I have had a case open with support for over 2 weeks and they are not able to resolve hopefully somebody can help me?

The issue lies with the MAPI profile logging into the mailbox and checking for the email.

I have tried all variations of username / password formats, creating MAPI profiles on the server letting the APM create the profile, but all come back with the same error in the debug

The APM times out with MAPI profile not found?

I just need to see somebody's config who has this working! Just to see what format you have the MAPI profile in?

This is a fairly common problem that's not terribly well documented. MAPI Profiles created manually or automatically are created in the context of the user whose credentials have been defined as part of the component monitor. If you've assigned the "John Doe" credentials to this MAPI User Experience Monitor then John Doe must be able to log in locally to the APM server so a MAPI profile can be created. I recommend logging into the console of the APM server locally as the user whose credentials you've assigned to the MAPI User Experience Monitor. Then use MFCMapi.exe to verify the profile defined in the monitor actually exists. If it does not you can either manually create the MAPI profile under this users context or delete all existing MAPI profiles and MAPI UX monitors and recreate the monitor which should automatically create the profile.

Is there another post where this has been resolved? I'm having the same issue and have a ticket open with support 389396. I've pretty much tried all the things I've read and researched such as the Ignore Public Folders, create the profile, let the profile auto create, etc...

Also, the user credentials assgined to the monitor are the same as the user credentials to log into the server and access the email account. This account is local admin, domain admin and has full read only access to the Exchange 2010 SP2 environment. When I use the mfcmapi program I see the emails coming into the mailbox when I test. However, I still get the unknown mapi error and this in the logs. I also set the profile to default with mfcmapi.

Any help greatly appreciated.

What version of Exchange are you monitoring and how many MAPI User Experience Monitors do you have configured in SAM? If there are more than one, are any of them working?

This is the first attempt at setting up a MAPI monitor for round trip time. The only other templates were using are the Exchange 2010 one's included in SAM5.2 such as HUB transport role counters, DAG, etc..
