NCM Custom Properties

I just installed NCM 7 in a new environment and I can not find where to add a custom properties. In NCM 5.5 you can add it though the NCM application. Since version 7 moves a lot of the configuration to the web, I expected to find it there, but it's not apparent. I can input data for the "custom" properties already defined... (City, comments etc) but can't create a new property.

Can someone please tell me how to add / edit the custom properties? Or was this feature removed with version 7.

Yes they now share custom properties.

It is no longer possible to add new custom properties to NCM without adding it to Orion
It is no longer possible to add new or edit custom properties using NCM win32 application

Based on this, it appears all nodes being backed up, MUST be added to Orion.
You cannot manage NCM nodes unless they are in Orion.
This is a major departure from V6.x where you could back-up any device without having to monitor it in Orion.

This brings up another question.
I have NCM 500 installed on an Orion NPM SLX server.
I'd like to synch NPM with NCM, but only for Nodes in specific IP subnets, otherwise my NCM 500 license will be depleted backing up nodes that are currently backed up using another method.

For this reason, I currently manage NPM and NCM nodes seperately.
What will happen when I upgrade to V7? Will the other customers 900 nodes be automatically imported from NPM to the existing customers 300 NPM/NCM nodes?

I only have Solarwinds Orion NCM, I do not have NPM. I am trying to add a custom property to my nodes. I figured I can't do it in the NCM application as they moved stuff to the web interface, but I can not figure out how to add custom properties from the web interface. Is this possible? Please help.

Custom properties are not done through the web yet, connect to the orion server, start, programs, solarwinds orion, grouping and access controll, custom properties editor.

I found the web page that allows one to select which nodes in NPM will be managed in NCM, so that is no longer a concern.

However, when I upgraded from V6.1 to V7 I lost the ability to manage 5 custom properties I had defined in NCM.

These 5 custom NCM properties are now orphaned at the bottom of the web page when editing a NCM node details.

They don't show up in the Orion node manager or CPE at all. I'd like to remove them from the old NCM Config Manager DB and add them into the Orion Node mgmnt DB using the Custom Property Editor.

Is this possible somehow?
