How flexible should an IT Administrator be?
Here is my dilemma or is it? Other employees in management run the IT Department where I am told what and how the system should run and just make it happen regardless of the consequences. I tell them the reason why it should or shouldn't be done that way and the response I receive is just do what I tell you to do and make it happen and fast. If I don't do what they say I am told I am inflexible and uncomplainant with a manager.
Shouldn't I have the right to say "NO" if it impacts everything and everyone else in a false way?
How many other companies are there that allow this to happen?
There aren't any meeting to discuss what they want done and what can be done without any issues arising. They won't allow that to happen because they are in charge of the situation.
How should a situation like this be handled?
