Many thanks Pavel, this looks good but I need to do some work on it.

Looking at the SQL Insight for today it is reporting 1900 entries in the SQL Error log yet your report doesn't contain anywhere near that number of entries. I'm also confused why some entries, especially those such as below:

Database: wills, creation date(time): 2011/11/08(11:15:46), first LSN: 6841:55:1, last LSN: 6841:55:1, number of dump devices: 2, device information: (FILE=1, TYPE=VIRTUAL_DEVICE: {'SQLBACKUP_8B1628A9-BD3E-491D-8109-1BC814A29C3C', 'SQLBACKUP_8B1628A9-BD3E-491D-8109-1BC814A29C3C01'}). This is an informational message only. No user action is required

end up in the Error log!!

Despite the name, the SQL error log contains all messages from the SQL server not just hard errors. You can see this information in the SQL Server Management Studio yourself following the steps below.

In Object Explorer, expand a server, expand Management, and then expand SQL Server Logs.
Right-click a log and click View SQL Server Log.

Thx, that makes sense now.

I guess that the section named SQL error log should be renamed as SQL event log for clarity.
