A question on multiple instances

I have been asked to find out about running multiple instances of solarwinds.

Specifically, is there a way to run a complete version of the products and then have a restricted version for another group of people.

I know of the accounts and views, and had set up something for the small group. However there is a concern about the access they still will have even in the restricted setup I had created.

If you can please point me towards documentation or other information that would be greatly appreciated. I've looked a bit already and am just a bit frazzled, will keep looking.

I've just done this for a company working for the NHS, they have a large Solarwinds environment that monitors their infrastructure and then we have a separate trial licensed set of Solarwinds products running in our test environment that is being used for load testing and monitoring during the load testing. This will obviously only last for 30 days due to licensing, but Solarwinds are great and will certainly help you out with that if you need a bit of an extension i'm sure.

I'm sure your account manager would be able to help with licensing two solarwinds deployments as well if you wanted to do this?

The other (cheap) option is to create a NOC view or a standard filtered view that only lists the servers you want the group to view and give them only that view as their default view and lock everything else down in permissions.
