Why use SNMP with IPAM?

Just curious, but why would one use SNMP scanning with IPAM if you already are doing that with Orion NPM?

Is there some kind of data that IPAM gives you that Orion does not?

Typically not all IP's in IPAM are being monitored in NPM as well and for those devices not in NPM, it is good information to have on those boxes like MAC Address and machine type etc.
