HTTP POST is generating a GET error, why?

Hi,

I've setup a trigger action to use HTTP POST to an XML gateway. However it doesn't work. I can't get very good log descriptions on why that is, or what it is sending (I have no access to the gateway logs). I have tried recreating the alert and being careful to never click the "GET" radio button, only the "POST".

 

Here is an example from testing trigger:

(alertname): Encountered error in GET action. - The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.

Action type GetURL for alert (alertname) failed to complete successfully.

Completed action type GetURL for alert (alertname).

 

If I go to event viewer:

Event ID 4001: {date} [Alert Checking Thread] WARN Error - failure to execute HTTP GET action.

Seems to just be a quirk of how it records.

 

Turns out that in 10.0 Orion HTTP Post uses UTF-16, but in 10.1.1 it changes to UTF-8. This solved all my issues.
