New to SW. Bare with me
Please tell me if I am thinking correctly or not.
When you create an alert, you can't tie that alert into a certain device unless you specify a variable within the trigger condition correct?
In otherwords, lets say I create an alert for high memory usage. Something like this:
Trigger condition:
Percent Memory Used is > or = 70%
If I left this as it stands, it will apply "globally"? As in our network AND system nodes will fire off based on this alert as it stands.
To get granular, you would add something like a Node Name = Server1 to isolate the alert to that particular system?
Or I could do the following:
In order to keep my alerts (systems) from going to everyone (networking team) would be to add a "owner" condition correct? This way they only fire to that defined group as long as I specify the owner to match within the Node itself. (hopefully you're not looking at your screen sideways at this point).
My assumption going into SW Orion was that you created the alerts based on a specific set of variables. At this point you would assign them to the nodes that you specify... but I'm guessing my assumption was wrong????
Thanks in advance.
