Is there a way to graph the number of files in a directory?

I have been asked to see if I can determine the number of waiting files in a dir and create a graph for it over time.  I set up a directory monitor which returns the number of files when you click preview, but there does not seem to be a way to graph the value, only the availablity, response time etc. 

 

I am running v9.06.
