Feature Request: Device Age out and auto discovery

Question

It would be great if after not connecting to a device for X amount of time it could be auto removed from NCM.  This would pull out half of the manual process of adding/remiving nodes.

The other half of the battle are adding devices.  If discoveries could be automated somehow that too would be great.  I know this can be done in a way by pulling info from Orion but that does not work for us as we want to inventory ALL nodes in NCM and only monitor a subset in Orion.

sorry for hijacking this thread, but i have an idea to the auto discovery option.

what about you are able to make a schedule. for auto discover a specific range or know seed router?

because we are adding new device all the time, and it would be nice if they get on the list weekly without i have to remember to do a new discover devices every time.

That makes sense.  So, you're saying if a device hasn't responded to one or more of those protocols within the last X days/weeks/year, then delete them.

I'm curious how often this occurs?   Are there a lot of devices that age out in this manner or is this a once per year exercise?

I would think by the lowest level of communication to be sure that it is indeed an offline device.  So by that thought process then just ping.  But I think what would be nicer is if you had options. Here is an example.
