Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Need ISDN interfaces to show up GREEN when down.
bripage
I am running many different cisco platforms with bri's for our ISDN backup lines. The ISDN lines being down is a good thing and therefore should show up as GREEN on Orion, and RED only when the bri and its subinterfaces become active. I dont know how to set this up. Can someone who has dealt with this issue please respond? Thanks!

Hi bripage,
This is not currently possible with the Orion package. Perhaps in a future release they will allow you to mark interface status as green for down backup interfaces and red when the backup interface (whether it be dial, ISDN, or some other transport) is up.
Be fantastic.

It has already been requested back in 2003.
No word on if this will be addressed in future releases...

Is there anyway to have the ISDN back interfaces be monitored by Orion, but on Net Performance Monitor, not have have that interface show up for the customer? And then, have alerts still sent out when the ISDN comes up and goes down. Let me know what you think.
Network_Guru
You can hide the ISDN interface from the customer by not adding it to the custom view you created for that customer (It will still show up in the "admin" view as down).
Then create the alert you want to send to the customer & select "change custom property" that you used to limit the view, so that the customer can see the interface when it comes up.

So how do I add the node but not that specific ISDN (BRI) interface?
