How do you use the Orion Logs?

Good Day,

i am just wondering how people use the Logs on solarwinds i am trying to build a good understanding of the environment and if some goes wrong where would i go before logging a ticket so i can be more proactive

the logs are located here C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Logs might be different for you. so my question is how do you use the logs to troubleshoot issues?

iv looked through Thwack and keep getting hits on LEM when i type in logs lol. any knowledge based denouements will be very useful

Generally, check the BusinessLayerHost logs (C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Logs\Orion by default), as any problems with the various Orion modules will be listed there. Other than that, just look at the logs which have the most recent modified time, and you'll get the hang of what information is logged where. As these logs are programmer/engineering logs, there's no nice guide I'm afraid.

(At least not one that I've been able to find! )
