Console User with Domain credentials username

I'm able to use create Console users that use Domain credentials, but the username required to login must be in the form of exampledomain.com\username. Is there a way I can login to the Console with domain credentials without having to enter the domain\?

Hi, there.

The domain is required for AD authentication. That's what defines the user as an AD user as opposed to a local LEM user. To change whether you have to enter domain.com\username or domain\username, edit the setting in the Directory Service Query Tool connector.

Exactly what setting is it that I need to edit in the Directory Service Query Tool to allow logging in as domain\username instead of domain.com\username? I tried changing the Domain Name entry in the Directory Service Query Tool connector from domain.com to domain. A Test Domain Connection shows as successful, but when I go to add a Directory Service User and select that domain from the Active Directory Domain drop down box, nothing populates the Organizational Units, Available Groups and Available Users boxes below. Do I need to make a change on the AD side?

It looks like you have the right setting, but the form doesn't re-load all of the OUs every time you open it. Try restarting the console to see if that helps. You can also try selecting and different OU and then selecting the one you want as noted in the SolarWinds Log & Event Manager Release Notes.

Phil,

I've been able to try your suggestions without any luck. I've tried a few other things such as waiting a couple hours after creating the connector and closing all consoles but still no luck. Next step is to open a trouble ticket. I'll be sure to report back the results later.
