Hi Geeks aLTeReGo,
Is there a reason why only one of our 7 pollers uses CIFS/IPC connection to supply all SQL queries to the SQL database server while other 6 pollers would use TDS protocol. Is there a configuration difference between these pollers make the pollers to use different protocols?
We are seeing some performance issues with this specific poller that is using CIFS and would like to understand the root cause for this. Our performance engineers running N/W traces and identified this as a major difference between the problematic server and others. While we also see the main poller uses CIFS protocol but that is not its primary protocol to communicate to the DB server from what we see.
Can some Orion/SQL Experts explain this why?
If this is specific to SQL DB and nothing to do with Orion configuration how bad does that affect Orion Performance?
We have mixed APMs including Oracle, SQL and custom monitors polling from all our APEs.
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.
Regards
Arnold
