Alert firing but not performing action

Alert for node interface down is triggered and show in in active alerts but the the action to write to a log file is not done.

How can I trouble shoot this? Is there a log I can see?

The interfaces that triggered this alert are all down and the alert had been previously ACK'd and cleared but the status did not change from down to up.

Could that be the issue? Does NPM know this and therefore is trying to prevent a duplicate event?

SMH!!!

The alert action was not enabled. I keep forgetting that Alerts and Alert Actions are two separate functions that can be enabled/disabled, so I didn't check that until today.

Well actually I knew it but I was checking on another action and when I gruped them all by by "Off" I saw that this one was off too!

I have no idea why it was off and assumed no one would have turned it off.

Could you post a screenshot of your alert?

You say that the log entry is not being written. Are you implying that the email action is working? If that's the only bit, can you verify that there are not permission/security issues on the drive? What is the alert time on the alert (Orion.ActiveAlerts.AlertTime)? Is it before you enabled the new actions?

We are not sending email. I don't think write rights are an issue because if I use the test feature for the action it writes to the log. This i not a new alert. It used to work but it stopped working recently.
