Upgrading Solar Winds

We are planning to upgrade from the following:

Current: VNQM 4.2.3, NPM 11.5.3, NTA 4.1.1, NCM 7.4.1, IPAM 4.3.1, UDT 3.2.3

Target: VNQM 4.2.4, NPM 12.0.1, NTA 4.2.1, NCM 7.5.1, IPAM 4.3.2, UDT 3.2.4

I am looking for info on anything I need to be concerned about, or prepared for, during this upgrade.

We will have a fresh DB backup and I know to install the modules in this order: NPM, NCM, NTA (not sure if install order matters with VNQM, IPAM or UDT)

Is there anything else I haven't considered that could cause issues? Thanks for your time.

With the new Orion installer, it should give you the upgrade path and run a set of preflight checks. How did your upgrade go?

Biggest concern for me was managing my users during downtime and making sure the environment I was building would do the job without causing any problems to vmware hosts it was running on and that the database had enough space to grow and enough bandwidth.

If you log into the customer portal - Customer Portal Login, under downloads is an 'upgrade adviser'. This will assess your current versions and hardware and give you the information you need. It will flag anything that you might not be aware of also, like specification requirements etc. I found it very good. Give it a try.
