Changing SAM app statuses from "unknown" to " not running"

I have searched and read so many threads now that my mind is numb! I can not see a way to change a status so that when it is not returning data it shows as "not running" and not as "unknown". We are monitoring a Citrix environment and when no sessions are open the monitor alerts on unknown. This needs to be set as NOT RUNNING as to not set off alerts.

The only App Component monitor in SAM that I know that allows the use of the verbiage 'not running' as a status of a monitor is in a Windows Service Monitor as described here : Windows Service Monitors that exist but are not running show as Down - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support 

But I may have missed others.
