Recently setup Orion/NPM/SAM etc. I've begun noticing a lot of interfaces, many switch to switch with lots of dropped RX or TX errors.
I've read on the forums here that drops and errors are different and drops are generally overflows on the device reporting it.
I've investigated port configuration mismatches and found none as of yet. These are either LACP or just switch to switch backhaul connections.
The one I'm investigating today is an HP ProCurve Switch 2520G-24-PoE (J9299A) (parent) connected to an HP ProCurve Switch 2610-24-PWR (child). the 2610 is ringing up millions of RX Drops and I don't know why. They're SFP ports over fiber and both are Gig speed.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? I tried swapping the SFP media adapter and the patch cable at the 2610 with no change.
