I need to create an advanced alert which alerts on a flapping interface (I dont want to use Syslog or Traps for it).
How would I do that?
I think syslog or trap is the way to go on this one. I don't believe Advanced Alerts is capable of this due primarily due to the type of data it uses, polled data. If the polling interval and flapping interval aligned, you would run risk of missing all the flapping.
but i think on syslog i would have to create an alarm on each interface or consider several up/down messages as flapping no matter which interface that would be?
I am in the same scenario as above.
Has anyone found a solution to reporting on flapping interfaces, correctly?
