In Network Performance Monitor,

1. Can I monitor running TCP Ports on the Servers, eg. If the apache server is running on port 80 then I just need to check whether that port is UP or DOWN. Just like we use telnet command to know the port status.

2. When I configured Alerts I found some feature available like "Execute an External Program",  "Execute an external VB  Script ". I want to know whether these programs are locally executed or I can execute these external program or VB script directly on remote server. I am looking for a feature which will allow me to execute some VB Scripts on remote windows server  and Shell scripts on remote linux servers.

3. Can I get statistics for each CPU if I have a server with Dual Core / Quad Core Processor ??

This functionality is available in the Application Performance Monitor module.

They are executed locally, but some users have the local script launch an external script.

Yes, using the Universal Device Poller.
