Setting Up Template Alerting

Hi All -

I have been able to make 2 custom templates to monitor specific windows services, and assigned the nodes I want to be monitored based on these templates.  Hope I haven't lost you so far.

What I can't find is how to add the email addresses I want these alerts to go to, like you can in the NPM module.

I'd like to assign certain templates to certain distribution lists I've made in AD.  For instance, if a SQL service goes down, I have a group for SQL_Admins with an email address SQL_Admins@blahblah.com.

I'd also like to customize the period in which these templates are monitoring the servers since we do a reboot every night, and I don't want alerts to kick out.

Please let me know.

Ok, I will take a stab at this one...

For this instead of making the monitoring stop during specific times, you would handle this in the alert.  When you setup an alert in the Advanced Alert Manager you can specify the times during which the alert is active.

To solve this I would create a custom property for all of your nodes called Alert Email.  Then for each node you can specify an email address that you want the alerts to go to for that node.

Now when you setup an alert email, in the email address instead of having an actual email address you can use a macro that calls up the property from the node, it would look something like ${Node.AlertEmail}
