How to monitor CIFS?

Hello, is anyone using APM to monitor CIFS? I'm looking to monitor that a user can actually enumerate a share, not just that the server service or the computer browser service is running. In my case, I'm running CIFS off an EMC Celerra.

Hello,
EMC Celerra system runs custom version of Linux system but it still contains bash shell and Perl. You can use "Linux Script Monitor" with custom Linux script written for example in Perl and use it to monitor system. Script is executed on target system so you can parse log files or get any other data you can access from console on the system.

any luck on this? i'm implementing a bunch of CIFS servers on Celerras and need to grab the system logs off of the CIFS servers...

Have you checked out our Profiler product? Your use case is a little specific, but here's what it can do:

Monitor the storage and performance of Celerra directly.
It can do file analysis on CIFS and NFS shares on the Celerra (or any NAS), listing all the shares and then allowing you to select which ones you want to do file analysis on
